Hawk class

Our topic this half term was about the Titanic. We really enjoyed finding out all about this famous disaster. We went to Sea City in Southampton for a fascinating and informative day.

InIn Science, we have been looking at the Solar System and we used inflatable planets to look at how they orbit the sun. We also had to complete a moon diary, by studying and drawing the moon each night over the period of a month.

Our topic this half term has been on castles. As part of our topic, we went on an amazing trip to the Tower of London. These are some photos from our day.

We made some information leaflets about the Tower of London, which were put on display for people to read.

InIn Design Technology we learned how to make cata‑ pults. We found out how we could make out cata‑ pults stronger using card‑ board triangles on the joints.

To finish our Castle topic, we had a Medieval Day. All the children and adults from Years 5 and 6 dressed up, we tasted some food and showed some of our work to the rest of the school. Year 5 tested their cata‑ pults and in the afternoon we watched Robin Hood.
